Édouard de Rothschild Édouard Alphonse James de Rothschild
Paris, 1868 - 1949
Son of Alphonse and Léonora de Rothschild, Edouard led the family business in Paris with his younger cousin Robert. He was also a director of the Banque de France.
In 1905, he married Germaine Alice Halphen. The couple lived between the Saint-Florentin mansion, the château de Ferrières-en-Brie and Sans Souci. He took refuge in the United States in 1940, only to return to France after the war.
He was the heir to his father’s collection.
